The last few months have been a very interesting time for the U.K, we have been bombarded with ‘leave’ & ‘stay’ propaganda, news debates and tales of woe.

In the end it was a majority vote for leave an so we face a long and winding road of uncertainty, the governments don’t know who’s going to be running the country with Mr Cameron stepping down and Boris Johnson stepping out of the race for PM. Blah Blah blah I was going somewhere with this but seem to have got tied up in politics.

Ok… yes is the answer, leaving the EU will have an effect on mobile phone repairs. We will definitely see an increase in the cost of the parts which are all priced in dollars and purchased from abroad.

Leaving the EU has caused the British pound to go down against the dollar, to its lowest point in 30 years. Now taking into account that all the spare parts for our smartphones are priced in dollars it’s safe to say once the repair shops current stock runs out. The price they pay for new parts will cost more pounds that it has previously. So we can expect a price increase in the coming months.
